Every Drop of Water Will Be Billed Now










As of April 1st, 2009, Wasaga Beach residents are being billed for their water consumption.

Residents will receive a bill in the first week of May for their metered consumption as of April 1, said Wasaga Beach CAO George Vadeboncoeur. In the meantime, the municipality is looking at ways to help people conserve water through education and incentive programs. Vadeboncoeur said councillors who sit on the municipality's public works committee are considering offering rebates for certain water-saving devices such as toilets, showerheads, moisture sensor sprinkler systems, rain barrels and faucet aerators. Doesn't it sound like a great idea to collect that rainwater? Would you believe that in some areas in the U.S. it's considered unlawful because they claim you are "stealing" water from the watershed!!!
